for me, starving yourself isn't the solution to weight loss. I'm pretty sure u need 3 meals a day with healthy, non fatty foods. a healthy snack like a fresh fruit would be very helpful between lunch and dinner, because it prevents you from overeating at dinner. this is my opinion and i don't know if your method will work or not
you can cook for him healthy food and on breakfast he have to have a sandwich and a juice .then the healthy plate of the day that u have cooked and at the end of the day no more than a fresh fruit

Eat breakfast.. but wheat toast and two different typeS OF FRUIT have a lunch but healthy if not healthy make it small and no snacks and a tiny dinner (eattign food at dinner time makes u gain weight) and after dinner and after school play out such as run if u cant do that then do sit ups and jumping jacks and sqauts(if you want to) #1 rule NO JUNK FOOD drink plenty of water during your day. the maximum of water u need to clean your system and help u loose weight is to drink 8 glasses of water that is 8 ounces
