The AC current tend to flow on the surface of the conductor. The higher the frequency, the thinner the skin.

This is known as the skin effect. So DC current flow throught the entire conductor but when the signal varies (AC) there is the formation of eddy current in the conductor itself and that pushes the electrons at the surface of the conductor.

You can get more information on the skin effect and skin depth on wikipedia :

It is a conductor & common in wiring.

What metal is a good conductor of thermal energy and electric current?

aluminum, copper,

What is a material that will carry an electric current called?

A material that will carry an electric current is called a conductor. Conductor materials have high electrical conductivity, allowing the flow of electric charges with minimal resistance. Examples of conductors include metals such as copper, aluminum, and silver.

Will copper carry a electric current?

Yes, very easily. Copper is an excellent electrical conductor.

What is the path that an electrical current travels?

electric current

Would a copper wire act as the best insulator of electric current?

no it is good conductor because it has free electrons

What is the advantage of using a stranded copper conductor over a solid copper conductor?

It would of course depend on the specific application. Current tends to travel on the surface of a conductor and a stranded conductor has more surface area and thus offers less resistance to the current. Stranded wire also bends a bit easier than the corresponding size solid wire.

How can copper can relate with electric because copper is 2 plus and electric is negative and positive?

Electric current is always the flow of electrons ... negative charges. The only requirement for a substance to be a good conductor of electric current is that it must have electrons on its outer layer that are relatively easy to tear away from the atom.

Is copper a good conductor of electric current because its atoms are made up of more electrons than protons?

yes

Which type of solid is likely to be the best conductoe of electric current?

The best conductor of electricity is silver, followed by copper and gold.

What does copper wire do in an electrical circuit?

Because the metal Copper is a very good conductor - of both electricity and heat - copper wire can be used to carry an electric current in an electric circuit. The electric current consists of a flow of electrons.

What matter has the ability to carry an electric current?

An electrical conductor has the ability to carry an electric current. Most of the best conductors are metals such as copper. Water containing ions can also conduct an electric current (which lead-acid batteries rely on)
