There seems to be some evidence of this. Research has pointed to evidence of a genetic predisposition to various chronic Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IDB). Incidence among Jewish individuals of Eastern European descent is one finding. The rate is at least two and up to eight times more specifically common in Ashkenazi Jews. Crohns disease occurs in all ethnic groups and races but its incidence is highest in Caucasians and Jewish people. The Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America has estimated that over 2 million Americans suffer from some form of inflammatory disease. There is an equal incidence of Crohns in males and females.

∙ 11y agoYes, at least in the US. It appears that Celiac disease in the US is almost entirely limited to non-hispanic whites. This has not been studied well in other regions.

Crohns disease has not yet been proven to be genetics. People develop Crohns with no family history or having any sort of digestive system issues. The belief that Crohns disease exists is because of today's medical advancement. Peoples immune systems are not as strong as they once were because of immunisation shots and such, this disease is on the UP and more and more people are being diagnosed. So it is hard to say what chances are of your offspring acquiring the disease.
