Eating and what to eat are questions that are often asked. Simply you want to eat simple foods like soup and Sandwiches for the first few days (things that don't involve a lot of chewing). Spicy foods or foods that are served quite hot are not good ideas, spicy foods and hot served foods can cause swelling to become worse. So think about the diet a bit before you choose foods that will annoy the piercing. Dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, sour cream) should be avoided because they tend to leave a residue on the tongue.
Oral hygiene should be simply brushing your teeth in the morning and using a good oral rinse, then again before bed brushing the teeth and using a good oral rinse (don't brush the tongue, this will annoy the piercing). Oral rinses should normally be used only twice a day (no more, no less). Between brushing just swish and swallow with cold water after meals, snacks or smoking.
