I am not a psychologist, psychoanalyst or counselor, so the following is a non-professional opinion.
Before I would presume to say you are a liar or a cheat, I would need to know more about you, but we don't want to go there. Here are some things to think about:
- How do you define 'affair'? An affair can be a secret relationship between two people. There does not have to be a third person involved.
- Is anyone being hurt by this relationship? Yourself? Your affair partner? A different partner? Your co-workers? Your company? Family? Friends?
- What circumstances started the relationship?
- Why is it a secret?
- Are you lying to yourself, your affair partner, or others?
- Has the affair ended or is it still going on?
- If it is still going on, why? What do you envision as the outcome?
- If it has ended, did you learn anything from the experience? How did it affect you? Would you do it again?
Someone else here may have a more insightful answer. Human relationships can be very complex and may step beyond rational thought.
