Insulin can have many effects. If you take too much, so that your blood sugar drops, that can interfere with sleep. If you are otherwise ready for sleep and you wake and feel sweaty and/or have a rapid heartbeat, eat something sugary, such as half a candy bar, or drink three or four ounces of Orange Juice.
