Can you please re-phrase your question? Serial number 16-16189 does not exist on any Browning. What type of gun is it? ie: Shotgun, rifle, pistol? the "16-" does not compute.

William Lawrence was a manufacrurer located in Laconia NH in the late 1800's. Without more specific information it is impossible to date or value your shotgun even if the company records still exist.

i was on the internet looking for the same information because i have one as well, and nobody really has any information. some people have told me they don't exist and i am holding one this moment. any info would be great- d.s. Newport was a trade name distributed by Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co of Chicago. The double barrels were made by Crescent Firearms Co from about 1900 to 1930. After Crescent was bought by J. Stevens Arms that company continued manufacturing them.
This gun does not seem to exist in the Parker Gun Identification & Serialization Book. However guns with serial numbers between 13732 & 17394 were made in 1879.
