It takes courage to do either. One, it takes courage to potentially have your head knocked off. The other takes courage to stand your ground and be accepted as someone who doesn't have to engage. That means not caring what onlookers think, thinking for yourself. If you choose to fight and take the chance that you'll be the one to knock somebodies head off, and you beat them up, you really haven't shown that you can take a punch, or accept defeat, because you won. So you have to do it again to get that chance. Doesn't sound logical. Courage comes from standing up for someone else who can't defend themselves. Fighting for yourself when you are in danger is just self preservation, also a necessity. Ask what the issue is first.
