Tethered means that you have to "just boot" your jailbreak every time you reboot your device. Untethered means that you dont have to do that
yes, but theres a 50% chance that it wont turn back on or might not work properly.

Be patient - you can't jailbreak the iPhone 4S yet, it will most likely come out in a few weeks.
You can jailbreak iOS 7.1.* using Pangu Jailbreak. (Do to the inability to add links and post links, just google Pangu Jailbreak and that should work.)

A tethered jailbreak is a jailbreak that must be run every time your device starts. If you restart your device, the jailbreak will no longer be in effect, so you must connect it to your computer and run the jailbreak again. In contrast, an untethered jailbreak will not stop working on reboot, so only has to be performed once. It's called "tethered" because your device must be connected to your computer every time it starts: it's tethered to your computer by the USB cable. "Untethered" means that there is no wire tying it down.
No because Jailbreakme.com is for lower iOS versions like 4.3.5 but you can do a tethered jailbreak because it is not an a5 device like the pad 2 and 3 and the iphone4s but a tethered jailbreak means that you need to plug in your itouch every time you want to reboot it
I think that there is a jailbreak for every version but I would recommend the latest version for ease of use
No. Jailbreak is out yet for 2G. Chronic Dev is workin on it. dec13/08
As of now, there is only a "tethered" jailbreak for the 5th generation. Tethered jailbreaks can be a pain, since you have to reinstall the software after each and every restart. If you want to jailbreak your 5th generation, I'd recommend to wait until an untethered jailbreak is released.
