Ok you have to do these steps. 1. Download redsn0w. Both windows and Mac are supported 2. Download your ipod/ iphone firmware. if you dont know what your firmware is, go to settings: general: about then scroll down to version 3. Run Redsn0w 4. Browse your iphone/ ipod firmware 5. Only install cydia and enable battery percentage then click next DO NOT boot tethered or you will have to jailbreak it every time you reboot it or it goes dead. 6. Put your device in DFU mode then just leave it. 7. make sure the device does not get unplugged during the process or you will have a broken ios device and you want a jailbroken. let the jailbreak do its thing and if the device does get unplugged just hold the power and home button for about 30 seconds. 8. you should have a jailbroken ipod touch or iphone
Redsn0w Untethered, is the best for 5.0.1. You don't have to keep installing it upon every boot. ( Link is below if you want it)
simple answer, yes!
if its already jailbroken than you will need to unjailbreak it (take the jailbreak off) then when its normal ;go to itunes go to and click update and cancel it because it will erase every thing than push shift+restore and it will update .then when its done install your jailbreak program:blackra1n,redsn0w,etc.
I sure you can jailbreak every version of the iPhone, but I wouldn't because I tried mine last night and my iPhone has froze on the loading apple screen. Basically, Im screwed, I have tried everything to 'unfreeze' it. I just logged on this site to try and stop people from jailbreaking. Its one of those things you have to have luck with.
I wish there was a way. Apple designed it to show timestamps on 15 minute intervals.
A tethered jailbreak is a jailbreak that must be run every time your device starts. If you restart your device, the jailbreak will no longer be in effect, so you must connect it to your computer and run the jailbreak again. In contrast, an untethered jailbreak will not stop working on reboot, so only has to be performed once. It's called "tethered" because your device must be connected to your computer every time it starts: it's tethered to your computer by the USB cable. "Untethered" means that there is no wire tying it down.
no
I think that there is a jailbreak for every version but I would recommend the latest version for ease of use
As of now, there is only a "tethered" jailbreak for the 5th generation. Tethered jailbreaks can be a pain, since you have to reinstall the software after each and every restart. If you want to jailbreak your 5th generation, I'd recommend to wait until an untethered jailbreak is released.
Tethered means that you have to "just boot" your jailbreak every time you reboot your device. Untethered means that you dont have to do that
its about 210$ each iphone
