can't say for sure, here in pa if check engine light is on automatic fail, if you have a Subaru, it's not hard to change and costs about 75 dollars, it's mounted at top rear of engine, just have to remove plastic air duct attached to engine throttle body to get to it, 30 -45 minutes for a diy-er, it looks about the size of a plastic soda top, or if you have access to a scan tool you can try to clear code and it might not come back for awhile. but remember after clearing codes you are gonna have to drive the car 15-20 miles for computer to go into a ready state that is required for emission pass. but that is for pa, call any shop that does inspections to double check . good luck hope i didn't confuse you
Problem with Knock Sensor circuit #1
That will cause you to fail an emissions inspection. Anything which triggers the CEL will, because everything which triggers it will adversely impact the emissions system on that vehicle.
what causes the knock sensor code on a 2002 Kia Spectra. Thank You sreddish@neo.rr.com
Because there is nothing wrong with it. This is a common code that can relate to a number of components. The knock sensor itself is rarely the problem.
you will have a knock sensor code and the car will run slugish. when a knock sesor code is set its retards the timing so the engine will not detonate. the easyiest way to fix it is relocating the sensor.
No it will not.
Electronic spark control is not receiving sinal from knock sensor Try replacing knock sensor
Trouble code P0325 means: Knock Sensor 1 Circuit (Bank 1) Replace the Knock Sensor
It is located on the side of the engine block. If you have a code for a knock sensor and you have a noise in the engine, it will set the code. That does not mean that the sensor is bad. They very rarely give problems.
Knock sensor/vibration sensor
Knock sensor codes on this vehicle are meaningless, the knock sensor does nothing unless the engine knocks. If you have this code there is more than likely a problem in one of the other emission-related devices, which often triggers this code first. My advice is to ignore it until another code pops up giving you more information about where to look. Do not replace the knock sensor, it will be expensive and will not stop the code from reappearing.
