No! Dogs love bones and anything to chew on. Milk bones are the best for them. Dogs should never have chicken bones, though - they split easily into sharp shards, and more than one dog has choked on them.
The bone could have all sorts of stuff on it that you couldn't see that are bad for dogs
They probably will.
If it was my dog and I saw some signs of being sick or drooling at an unusual rate, I would take it over to the vet.
Some alternative chew toys to dog bones involve some of the following: Nylabone Durable Dental Dinosaur Chew Toy, the Kong Extreme Dog Boy, and Pet Stages Soft Toss Ring.
She is THE MOST AWESOME!!! dog in the world. she is very cute and loyal and loves to be scratched behind the ears. she likes to chew on chewy bones, but don't let her chew too long because it can hurt her teeth. She has the prettiest feet you will EVER see!!!
dogs like to chew bones. The best bones my dog likes to chew are rawhides and pigs ears. My dog likes to chew anything he shouldn't - shoes, toys, carpet, steps, sofas etc. Here is what he gets up to... http://doggy-bloggy.co.uk
his dog is very clever because he gave him bones to chew on
Any size of dog can swallow bones. Do not feed your dog bones, can pierce the stomach or intestines and not pass through. Better to purchase something like Nylabones which are very safe for a dog and fun for them to chew on.
will it hurt a small dog with a yeast infection to have a rawhide bone
A pet dog uses his back teeth the post, to chew up dog food and bones. Thanks ERIC
No not at all! Unless they choke... Orks
Your dog is chewing on buckets because your letting him. Give him a raw hide chew [one appropriate for his size found in pet stores] or better yet go to any Butcher's and ask them for beef bones. I've always gotten them for free. I say beef because pork is sharp and can cut the gums and never give chicken bones as they splinter and shred causing internal bleeding as they pass through the digestive organs/intestines. Get the bone that is the correct size [small, medium or large] just tell your Butcher what size your dog is.
Dogs do many things with the bones that you give them, it just depends what they like to do. Many dogs will bury their bones in your yard. My dogs will chew on the bones until the disappear, especially raw-hides.A dog gnaws on a bone. Bones help the dog's teeth not grow so fast. In other words, it makes a dogs teeth shorter. Another thing is that dogs chew on a bone because they still scent the smell of what was on the bone before it was bare. If they like the scent, they chew away! Giving a dog a bone is good because if they crack it open, they can eat all the kinds of nutrients in side. There are MANY things a dog can do with a bone!!
Rawhide bones are good.Another answerRawhide bones are good, our dogs get them but we never leave them alone with them because they can get caught in their throats and they can choke. If, you have a large dog the "kong" chew toys are very good, course medium sized dogs can chew them too, they are very heavy rubber.
