Experiments using extreem high speed Photography shows that lighting begins from the ground up. The real question is not what you can see. It is where are the electrical charges.
lord of the sky usually associated with lightning cause he can make lighting come from his fingertips
that proves that Zeus is of the sky
Tornadoes form from the sky.
The sky can be any number of colors. Of of the time it's gray, but due to various lighting effect, the sky during tornadoes can also be black and even yellow or green.

What causes lighting??????? What causes lighting???????
Yes, lightning can come from the ground because the electrons want to go to the holes in the sky. Most people think that lightning comes from the clouds, but it doesn't. There is no electricity in clouds, only moisture.
yes it does come from the ground lighting is an oxidized column of air, the ground being the negative pole, and the air being the positive pole. Like arching a big spark.
no it does not it comes from the sky THE THUNDA COMES FROM THA SKY@!
A lighting bolt is a strike of light through the sky and if your looking this up WOW!:PIt is a lightening discharge between/within clouds and the ground
There are 3 main places lightening can travel from. The ground to a cloud, a cloud to a cloud, and the cloud to the ground.

Believe it or not, lightning actually begins in the ground and shoots up. However, this happens with such speed that it seems that it comes from the sky.
Lighting can only occur from cloud to ground.
Anger and the sky
There is much confusion over the "up" or "down" motion of lightning bolts, but in most cases it is initiated by the flow of negative ions in clouds to a positively charged point at another point (cloud or ground). What is referred to as "lightning" is a luminous path of superheated air caused by repeated current flows from the ground and the air. In certain cloud types, the interaction of ice and water (and possibly the Earth's magnetic field) creates a surplus of negatively charged particles, usually near the bottom of the cloud. Where the ground and objects below have accumulated positive charges, an electric discharge can occur. This is preceded by "step leaders" moving down from the clouds and "positive leaders" moving up from the ground. Where these streams come in contact, the negative ions flow to the ground, followed by a return flow of positive ions. This can occur multiple times in the same lightning strike.
