It depends on the age of the dog when it is neutered. If the dog hasn't started lifting his leg to pee and you get him neutered chances are that he will never lift his leg to pee. If the dog is older neutering him will not "fix" this problem. No. Dogs mark their territory and if you have had a female dog in the house (even a female cat) they will often mark their territory, but it they were trained correctly from the time they were a pup then they shouldn't be doing this. I have a male dog, a female dog and a female cat and my male doesn't mark his turf in my house. When he had accidents as a pup I would take him to the paper down the hall (I paper train and also train outside for my pets) and have had no problem. My girlfriend has an English Sheep dog and never bothered to train him correctly and now he urinates on the edges of all sofas. You can go to any local pet store and get a spray to stop this behavior.

Neutering BEFORE he starts marking can prevent the behavior from developing. Unfortunately, neutering AFTER he has started is unlikely to have an effect. Try using an enzymatic cleanser, such as "Nature's Miracle" to fully remove the evidence of his marking. Even if you clean thoroughly and can't smell it, odds are he still can. A dog can literally smell a single fingerprint on a pane of glass. The enzymatic cleaner breaks down the components of urine that give it its characteristic odor. This product or similar ones are available from your veterinarian or local pet store. The cleaner isn't going to be enough. You should also be doing some rigorous house training with very close supervision any time he is in the house. When he cannot be directly supervised, put him in a dog safe area or use a male incontinence garment such as a belly band. No he will still mark his territory by his smell or urine

yes it does because the vet would of taken its balls out and and it would stop it peeing in the house and it wont mate but you would have to give it acouple of days to learn.

No it doesn't. I double-guarantee it. It might make them less likely to pee in the house, but the dog's balls don't have anything directly to do with peeing. It does mean the dog can not mate.

Yes, I tried it. When I got my Scotty as a pup I bought some of that stuff. I think it smelled worse than the dog pee. I tried it once and threw it away. If you want to housetrain a dog you need to look for the signs that he/she needs to go out, and take them out. It is not fun or relaxing to train a dog, but after a week or so they get the idea. Don't yell at them, wave your arms, or put their nose in what they did, but stay calm, speak softly, and take them out.

neutering reduces a dogs compulsion to mark... it is preferable to neuter before a dog reaches sexual maturity so that the habit will not be developed in the first place...

How does neutering your cat help?

Neutering your cat helps because it can't have babies and there won't be as many hungry and stray cats in the world If you neuter your cat, not only will he stop spraying (unless there's a territorial issue within the house or something else he is upset about), become less aggressive, and help not increase the amount of cats homeless, he will also live longer by about 2-3 years.

What are the benefits and disadvantages of neutering female dogs?

Some of the benefits of getting your dog spayed is that you don't have to deal with heats and their temperament is milder. They are a lot easier to handle. Some disadvantages are that not getting your female spayed can help prevent some diseases in dogs. In addition, if you wanted puppies later on, you could not get them from your dog.

How do you stop your two male dogs peeing in the house. They pee everywhere. One marks and the other just pees constantly. Tried punishing them. Doesn't work. Help?

Try making what is called a Shaker Bottle: Get a bottle and put at least a handful of coins or pebbles in it, and seal the cap with tape. When your dogs make any sign of marking or peeing in a place you don't want them to, shake the bottle. This should distract them from what they were doing as the bottle makes a loud noise that startles them. As they look at you for causing the noise, sternly command 'NO PEE'. But don't use this method to potty train them: That's a different story. Also, try not to punish your dogs physically, as this will make them insecure. Hope this helped.

Do male dogs spray urine in house?

Dogs don't spray like tom cats, but they will mark their territory with urine. They are less inclined to mark territory in a house once they are properly housebroken. Tom cats just can't help themselves--dogs can.
