From the best of my knowledge, there are actually some legitimate uses for this substance. Nowadays, researchers are looking to capitalize on new treatments for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, supposedly by stimulating what are called nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. Nicotine does improve wakefulness--that's a given. However, being highly addictive and the misreporting of benefits of this substance makes me weary of giving prudent advices as to what a true benefit would be. If you have Crohn's disease or IBD or inflammatory bowel diseases/disorders, there might be promising research that nicotine may potentially help these people stay in remission from their disease. Smoking is probably not a wise idea if you have this problem, since the risks to benefit ratio, a common medical steadfast, shows that the risks are too high aka lung cancer, and the benefits "might" be too low. I'm not aware of any placebo-controlled, double blind clinical trials examining nicotine therapy and potential benefits. There is controversy as to whether pure nicotine is really bad for you, and if the real problem is all the fillers used in cigarettes and cigars. You could do some research. There is a device I believe that is called An E-Cig (E-Cigarette) that filters all the harmful substances out of a cigarette and gives you the "benefit" so to speak of pure nicotine. Look it up. Hope this helps!
Nicotine does not do anything good. Many people think it's good, but it really isn't. It changes you're mood to grumpy, and causes diseases. People think that it "say's goodbye" to diseases, but it does the opposite.
Im doing research on this topic at school at the moment,
nicotine is what makes cigarettes addictive for smokers, the patches supply the body with a continual drip of nicotine into the bloodstream. With it being continuously supplied to the body, your body will no longer crave cigarettes. When you have a constant supply, the desire to smoke is lost. If you are no longer smoking, tar and carbon monoxide (cancer causing compounds found in the smoke from cigarettes) are no longer present, making cancer less likely to occur. The advantages of the patches are; that you can control the strength of nicotine supplied, as the brain gets used to the supply you can gradually reduce the dosage, and the patches are easy to hide so nobody else will neccessarily need to know. The idea is that eventually, you're body will no longer desire the great dosages of nicotine which is so bad for your body, and eventually quitting smoking is a likely option and you will be able to come off of the patches all together. however Allergic reactions are possible and can form rashes around the area, after about eight weeks the effectiveness of the patches is reduced and if the urge to smoke hasn't been lost within that time, it is more than likely you will be unable to quit smoking, the patches do work, however, not for everybody. Nicotine patches could also slow the development of a growing fetus during pregnancy. Because nicotine is still being supplied to the blood, risk of high blood pressure and increased heart rates is still there.
hope this helped!
i have no clue!
No, and it's a good thing. Nicotine is a deadly poison. If you ate enough to have an effect, it would kill you.
Yes , all cigars will have some percentage of nicotine as well as any tobacco product .
Nicotine by Ezra Pound
yes the point of it is it has nicotine but not any the other harsh chemicals cigarettes do
There are not health benefits from vapor pens or e-cigarettes. The vapor pen provides flavor and nicotine and is a much healthier alternative to smoking tobacco.
No.
good question.
nicotine is an addictive stimulant. It makes you think that you need it to feel good, therefore if you have nicotine in your system, and it keeps making you want more, and you take in more, then you will always have the nicotine in your system. However, if you stop using the nicotine product it depends on how much of it you consumed, before you stopped.
There has been rumors that Tim Hortons puts nicotine in their coffee. This is false. Tim Hortons does not put nicotine in their coffee or any of their food products.
Yes. Although the nicotine patch still has nicotine, an addictive substance, it does not have tar, particulates, carbon monoxide, ammonia, arsenic, methane, benzene, toluene, or any of the dozens of other nasty chemicals found in cigarette smoke.
The active ingredient in nicotine gum, nicotine patches, and vapes is... guess what... nicotine! It isn't a substitute at all, it just eliminates the smoke and associated tar. There are a variety of drugs used to assist breaking the nicotine addiction (e.g. certain antidepressants, certain antihypertensives, chantix). Some preliminary work is in process on a nicotine vaccine which would block all effects of any nicotine taken into the body.
Tobacco is legal and you don't have to take a swab test for it.
