These drugs are used to induce (start) or continue labor.
Keep in mind that your due date is only an estimate. The majority of women will give birth sometime between 37 and 42 weeks. It is hard to start your labour unless your body is ready. Having sex can help soften your cervix, an orgasm or walking can help bring contractions.
The baby probably isn't ready yet. Where I went to the hospital if you were 5cm dialated they would keep you and induce labor. you can be zero dilated and be in labor. As soon as your muscles start contracting you are in labor and have pains.
Im not sure but when I had my daughter I took caster oil on my due date and ate spciy food and drank a glass of red wine and walked a lot and went into labor that night. I did everything others had told me to do to induce labor instead of just one of them. I would wait till 38 wks for sure to start trying.
AnswerRaspberry Leaf tea is not for induction of labor. It's great to drink during your third trimester, however, to tone the uterus. It's said to aid in having better, more effective contractions and quicker labor. It is not dangerous and the recommendation is three cups a day from the start of your third trimester to be best effective.http://www.pregnancy-info.net/QA/answers-can_raspberry_tea_help_induce_labour_naturally/Do_raspberry_leaf_tea_capsules_work_to_induce_laborhttp://www.askbaby.com/induce-labour.htmhttp://www.bringemup.com/articles/13/natural-ways-to-induce-labour.html
There are lots of old wives tales about how to start labor but at best, they do not work but keep you occupied during the last days of your pregnancy, at worst, they are dangerous. Only a physician really has the tools to jump start labor.
when did china labor start
studying reflexology, i learned that there are two places. one is the soft fleshy part of the ankle (either one). this will stimulate the uterus to contract, but may not always start labor. the other is the soft fleshy part on the hand between the forefinger and the thumb.
they leave you for a maximum of 6hours to see if you go into labour on your own, then if not they put you on a drip to induce your leabour, if you still donr go into full labour, you are taken for an emergency c-section, this is how it was explained to me by a midwife on the ward when i was in having my daughter :)
