Sorry to say that no, walking does not induce labor. Walking can help get baby into a good position so that labor begins when your body and baby are ready. It can also help contractions (after labor begins) to get regular or to continue.

I assume you are desperately overdue. A fun way of trying to bring on labour is having sex. It might not be true but hey, make the most of it while you can. After baby appears, you may not have the time or inclination. Make sure sex is not too rough and maybe try different positions, like spoons, to accommodate your belly. Have fun!!! And good luck for your baby.

I have recently been taking CoQ10. I started out with 200 mg. a day. I noticed that after about 2 or 3 weeks, that I was unable to sleep. I cut back to 100mg a day, but have the same side effects. I also take 200mg of Zoloft. So....for me, I think that I am unable to take these two together. I am very disappointed, as I had so much energy!

I heard it can i was wondering if it can im 38 weeks pregnant now and im about to try it out lol

Yes. It is possible to go into labor at any point. It might not be healthy for the baby to be in labor at 30 weeks, so it's best to get to a hospital and be examined by a medical professional.

Dispersing is meant to move stagnant or blocked chi, and the finger or thumb is moved in a circular motion or slightly in and out of the point for two minutes.

Depends. If you have a very straightforward, low risk pregnancy and are not group b strep positive, your baby's heart rate is normal and he/she is active, and there are no other concerns the general rule is:
If you are a first time mom (primipara) you should be 3-4 cm with regular, strong contractions. If you have delivered vaginally before you are usually admitted if you are 4-5 cm with regular strong contractions.

If the baby has reached full term and you are pretty much ready to deliver, a little castor oil probably won't hurt. Many people claim that this is a valid and helpful way to facilitate delivery. Others say it does nothing. In general, it does nothing if you aren't pretty much ready to deliver. You should review this with your doctor or the delivery room staff of your hospital before you take any action. Considering that a baby is not considered "full term" until 37 weeks I would not suggest taking castor oil until you are at least 37 weeks (after consulting your doctor) Even though you are dilated to a 1, it does not mean that you will be going into labor any time soon. You can be dilated to a 4 and carry a baby for several more weeks. Even though it is proven that castor oil is more effective than some other natural induction methods, it is also debatable on how safe it is. Most doctors do not recommend castor oil until you are over your due date. Some other natural ways that you can help speed things up are: sex, spicy foods, pineapple (helps ripen the cervix), red raspberry leaf tea, walking, and most of all! Just relax!!! Your time will come when the baby is ready!!

It is very hard to predict exactly when you will go into labor, but a few signs that labor is coming soon are:
* Loss of your mucous plug
* The baby drops
* Braxton hicks contractions become stronger and more frequent
Asked by Wiki User
That is individual. The contractions can stop so you have to continue the next day, the baby get stressed, they need to have a c-section etc , a million things can happen.

hi, i onloy found this out with my second child due to planned c section, a babies lungs are full obviously not in use while inside you, but at 8 months their lungs fill up with fluid to aid them in maturing, if a baby is born at 7 months, the lungs are clear so has better chance of breathing alone than at 8 motnhs when lungs are full, its called wet lung from what i remember. but by the time they hit the 9 month and ready mark the lungs empty again ready for delivery and breathing oxygen when born. hope this helps x

What is Nipple Stimulation? Gentle rubbing or rolling of the nipple, or suckling of the nipples to encourage contractions is called nipple stimulation. Why does Nipple Stimulation work? Oxytocin, a hormone that causes contractions, is released in the body when the breasts are stimulated. After the baby is born, this release is important for the involution (returning to pre-pregnancy size) of the uterus. In labor, the release can be used to stimulate longer or stronger contractions. How do I do it? To stimulate the release of oxytocin, you must mimic the suckling of a baby. When a baby suckles, he does not grab just the nipple, but actually massages the areola (dark circle around the nipple). The areola can be orally massaged by the mother's partner or by a baby who has been "borrowed" for this purpose (babies under 6 weeks will tend to suckle any woman). The mother may prefer to massage her own areola. To do this she can rub the areola in a gentle rolling way with her palm or fingers. This can be done through thin clothing. NOTE: Nipple stimulation can have very strong effects, similar to the overuse of Pitocin (synthetic oxytocin). For this reason various experts have given recommendations on its use. Here are some recommendations I have seen at various sources: * Only massage one breast at a time * Only massage a nipple for 5 minutes, wait up to 15 minutes to see what happens before continuing with the massage * Do not stimulate the breast during a contraction * Do not use nipple stimulation after the contractions are 3 minutes apart or 1 minute long Some sample nipple stimulation techniques: When trying to induce labor or speed up a prolonged early labor, have the mother go about her regular activities. Set a timer to go off every hour. When the timer indicates, have the mother stimulate one breast for 5 minutes, then continue with her normal activities. If the mother is anxious for labor to begin, combine the effects of natural nipple stimulation with the natural prostaglandin released in semen by encouraging the mother and her partner to engage in intercourse. In the hospital, have the mother place her palm over the nipple and areola and give a firm but gentle pressure. Encourage the mother to move the palm in a circular motion, keeping the firm and gentle pressure. == ==

It saddens me to know that someone would not only post such a question, but obviously consider this. Childbirth is a blessing, not a curse nor a burden, you have a life growing inside you, a small child that is developing and is grown a great deal in 32 weeks (approx. 6 months).
Although I consider myself usually pro-choice, at this stage of pregnancy it is a bit late to be considering an abortion, which is basically what you are speaking of since you stated self induced miscarriage. This life inside of you has no defense of their own, they rely solely on the Mother for nourishment and protection.
Have we as a society become so cold as to disregard a small life such as a 6 month old fetus, for our own personal reasons. This child did not ask to be created, did not have control over this situation or anything that happens in it's life or prelife (if you will).
Though there may be reasons that are understandable as to why you can not raise a child, or situations out of the Mother's control that caused this unwanted or unexpected pregnancy that an abortion may be considered, it is an option done with in the first one to two months of pregnancy, not after 6 months.
At this state in pregnancy, please consider adoption. Regardless of the situation, there are hundreds if not thousands of good people in this world that would give anything to have a child but can not, therefore adoption is there only option. Instead of trying to find ways to end this child's life before it begins, consider options of giving this child a better life, after birth by allowing this child, this wonderful blessing on the world, a chance to be born and be adopted by someone that will love them, care for them, and let them be a part of their life.
You never know, this child that is unborn could be the next president of the United States, this child could turn out to be the next Einstein or Alfred Nobel. This child could turn out to be the next Ella Fitzgerald or Billie Holliday, however, no one will ever know if this child's life is ended before it has a chance to begin.

It is very unlikley (near on impossible) you will go into labour at 28 weeks, Castor oil stimulates the bowel and causes dihorreah which in late stages of pregnancy can trigger off contractions, At 28 weeks your baby isn't developed fully and will need intensive pediatric care to survive, there are also a percentage of babies that will not survive at 28 weeks as they are just not strong enough to fight off and infections they may attract . It is not wise to take castor oil at all during pregnancy, if you are struggling to go to the toilet and want to take it for that reason, try drinking lots of fruit juice and lots of fibre rich foods , that should help x

Is 4 cm considered active labor ?
Asked by Wiki User
Ask the pharmacist, but it doesn't help you go into labor, it just gives you griping stomach pains and diarrhoea, from the bowels not the uterus.

no... its only going to work around your due date if your baby is ready to be born anyway, they dont recomend it as it will give you the runs and who wants to try deal with labour and the runs... very unlikely to work at your due date let alone that early on. do not try and induce labour at 28 weeks as your baby is not delvoloped and maynot survive!

No. It is more likely just to give you vomiting and diarrhea, which you really don't want during labour! It is a myth that castor oil brings on labour and is strongly advised against by doctors and midwives. Besides that, it tastes horrible

It is possible, but some mommas walk around 2 or 3 cm dilated for a couple weeks. It also depends how effaced you are. Just make sure to call your doctor and go to the hospital (L&D) if you have regular contractions - for some women they simply feel like menstrual cramps at first!
