Yes it does get lost. And no the USPS does not care. I used their click-N-Ship to send two envelopes with a big cashiers checks to pay off loans. I sent them both by priority mail. One got there and the other did not arrive. I used their tracking system to track the envelope and it went all the way to their distribution center next to the lenders' office. Apparently; even though the item is electronically scanned, they are unable to account for it. Everyone that I have dealt with by phone has displayed the least amount of concern possible. I highly recommend using FedEx or UPS. They apparently believe in hiring good employees and holding them accountable. Bottom line is the envelope went out on 6/24/08 and as of 8/05/08 is still missing in action! It would be nice if there was a well publicized method for getting help in these situations.
