Well you see it depends on if it is a loud noise or very quiet, and also the pitches if it is a high pitch and very loud they will freak. its quiet with a low pitch it dose not effect them. but it really depends on the rat. most are like this though.

If they are regular, raspy noises, sort of like snoring, it may mean that your rat has a respiratory infection. You should get a vet to check it out, and prescribe antibiotics if necessary. Respiratory infections are dangerous for rats.
