No No.... use lemon juice. Mix a little lemonjuice and water ( equal parts) dip cut side of apple in mixture and wrap in plastic wrap, put in the fridge.
a tightly sealed plastic baggie should do the trick for a day or so
It is not a method for an apple.
Lemon Juice (i tried)
Water will start to dissolve the apple, but it will in no way rot it. Rotting is caused by decomposers, mainly bacteria. These decomposers can not live under water, so the apple would not rot at all.
i dont know why. answer it yourself
Both saltwater and lemon juice can slow down the rate of dehydration in apples. Saltwater creates a hypertonic solution that reduces water loss from the apple cells, while the acidity in lemon juice can help preserve the apple by inhibiting enzymatic browning and dehydration.
nutrients in salt is to help fight bacteria in our bodies and pepper to help keep us healthy
Browning did not use salt, their supplier did. Check any item made before 1976
Salt prevents apples from browning because it inhibits the enzyme responsible for the oxidation process that causes the browning reaction. This enzyme, called polyphenol oxidase, requires oxygen to function, and salt helps block this reaction by reducing the oxygen available.
Very probable salt stop the action of the enzyme poliphenol oxidase (this enzyme help the oxidation of apple internal surface).
During the time frame of 1966 to 1971 Browning salt cured (or salt dried if you prefer) their stocks. When rust problems began to arise, Browning offered to replace the "salt wood". You had to prove you were the original ower as the warranty didn't transfer to subsequent owners.
how does salt help roads not freeze
