Yes for instance a dipole will have a doughnut shape field and a directional like a yagie will have a long teardrop shape field at the front end and a shorter teardrop field at the rear and some smaler fields sideways and a parabolic disc wil have a very long teardrop shape field

What happens to the direction of the magnet field about a straight section of wire when the direction of the current is reversed?

In that case, the magnetic field caused by the current would also be reversed. As for the wire itself, it would feel a force in the opposite direction, due to the interaction of the magnetic fields.

How much volts or currents in order to produce one tesla?

There is no straightforward answer to your question. A tesla is the unit of measurement for magnetic flux density, defined in terms of magnetic flux per unit area. Magnetic flux density is determined by the magnetic field strength of the magnetic circuit in question which is expressed in ampere (turns) per metre. Unfortunately, the relationship between magnetic field strength and flux density isn't straightforward, as it depends on the shape of the B/H curve for the magnetic circuit's material. So, as you can see, there are too many unknown variables to give you a straightforward answer.

What is magnetostrictive oscillator?

An oscillator whose frequency is controlled by a magnetostrictive element.Magnetostriction is a property of ferromagnetic materials that causes them to change their shape when subjected to a magnetic field. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetostriction ~MECHASUN~

What is a wireless charger and how does it work?

A wireless charger is a device that transmits electric energy through magnetic (radio) waves. The basic principle behind the function of the device is explained in either 6th or 8th grade physics: electrons traveling through electric wires or other conducting objects generate magnetic forces perpendicular to the flow of electric power and any magnetic field perpendicular to the wire generates electric energy in the wire. By twisting a wire into a coil, the magnetic field is then concentrated and focused, thus forming an inductive coil (a different name for electromagnet). by placing two of these coils next to each other, alternating current electric power is transferred from one coil to the other. Another place where this phenomenon is found is in the antennae when electric signal is transferred from one antenna to the other one (or more). The distance and efficiency of energy transfer depends on the shape of the antenna and wavelength (frequency) used. This technology is used in TV and radio broadcast, cellphones, wi-fi, power transformers (big ones supplying power to homes and small ones in power bricks), etc, etc...The wireless chargers are usually flat pad-looking devices (the power transmitting antenna) and can be used to charge most common portable devices like cellphones and mp3 players. The power receiving device would have to be modified (the power receiving antenna) or specifically designed to operate with a wireless charger. The wireless chargers usually operate in micro-wave frequency and therefore need to be in close proximity to the device being charged.

How do you focus magnetic flux?

Just a hypothesis: Cylindrical shape with cone shape combined in special array. Made of electric coils and permanent magnets.

Why does the magnetosphere change shape?

Earth's magnetic field (and the surface magnetic field) is approximately a magnetic dipole, with one pole near the north pole and the other near the geographic south pole. The Inner Van Allen Belt & Outer Van Allen Belt cause the magnetic field.

Why is the magnetic field produced by a cylindrical solenoid is similar to a cylindrical permanent magnet?

Simple Answer:The shape of the magnetic field of a uniformly wound solenoid is very nearly identical to the field produced by a uniformly magnetized permanent magnet with the same physical shape as the solenoid. For the Experts:This is a consequence of the mathematical equivalence of the source of the magnetic field as created by a current and the source of a magnetic field as created by the curl of the magnetization density of permanent magnet.
