clay because it has the smallest particles thus making it difficult for water to travel through.
That is incorrect I did the science test and got it wrong it is not silt, you are just guessing the correct answer is sand. Sand is a substance that cant hold water well that's why when you are at the beach your sand castle falls down when water hits it.
Silt and soil are most deposited in the water and then it goes in to the rivers or oceans :)
A floodplain is the land that is covered by water when a river overflows it's banks. When this happens, silt and clay are deposited over time and the land on either side of the river flattens out. Any depressions in the land will hold water when the river level returns to normal after flooding and therefore more clay and silt will be deposited there filling it up.
a delta is an area near a river's mouth where the water deposits fine soil called silt

silt is just little pieces of rock that the water has flowed across
A silt trap is a designated area where water that is contaminated with suspended sediment as a result of construction activity or water runoff is contained. While the water is in a silt trap, the sediment can settle to the bottom of the trap until it can be removed.

---defined: Silt is a granular material of a grain size between sand and clay derived from soil or rock. Silt may occur as soil or as suspended sediment in a body of water. Silt may also exist as soil deposited at the bottom of a body of water. There is much silt at the bottom of most lakes. ---- sentence example: The silt in the water left me with a feeling of isolation as the murky darkness enclosed around us.
It will make the water white

silt
Sediment composition.
Nile silt is made from extremely small particles of sand that are brought down by the river and deposited along the river banks. The soil is very high in minerals and is used for farming as well as producing bricks along the banks of the river. When wet the silt (or clay) is extremely sticky very similar to wet bread dough and can hold a large amount of water. When dry the silt bakes hard and cracks as the water evaporates (it can shrink by as much as 40% of its wet volume).
