Yes because when you go to sleep your not exercising in any way. Its like if i you ate a Pizza in the morning (unlikely lol) then went for a long jog for a few hours you would burn calories and probably most of the Italian fat machine. But if you ate the pizza then went to sleep you would not burn anything off

"The simple answer is no. It does not accelerate weight gain it only doesn't allow your body to use the calories for anything other than unconscious actions. Eating a 1500+ calorie meal before you go to sleep will allow your body to break down the meal over the course of their rest period. Though in doing so, your body is converting most of the calories into fat cells for your body to use at a later time (Once your body creates a fat cell, your body can never get rid of it by its own means). There is a draw back to eating and quickly trying to lie down and sleep, that drawback is your digestive system. Your digestive system is an aggressive unconscious action that takes place anytime food is put into your body. Your digestive system works in shifts. You put food in, it breaks it down. The problem is your body only breaks down food so fast. The more food you put in the slower your body digests it. Your digestive system, if working, will cause your brain to enter the "Deep Sleep" session of your rest cycle much later than if you waited an hour after eating to lie down and sleep. So by estimating you will actually lose about an hour of sleep if trying to sleep directly after a hearty meal. Give your body some time to start the digestive process before you try to lie down and sleep."
