"Create as much energy" is poorly defined. The amount of energy produced from solar energy will depend on the surface area used for solar panels, the weather, the efficiency of the panels, and for how long it is used. Similarly, the amount of energy produced by a coal power plant would depend on its size, its efficiency (which of course may also vary), and for how long it is used. Please think about what exactly you want to compare.
Solar Power is primarily harvested by placing solar cells mostly made up of elements such as silver which take in the sunlight and later convert it into electrical energy. Though the energy produced in less in amount when compared to other energy sources such as coal and petroleum, it is a much cleaner fuel than both of them and is a non-renewable source of energy. Nowadays, it has become more popular due to it's non-pollution feature.
Solar energy is renewable. No matter how much sunlight we use, the sun continues to shine, and it is expected to do so for billions of years in the future.
about 100,000,000 a year
ANSWER:Solar energy is of course produced from the collection of sunlight by solar cells. Our Sun is considered to be 4.5 billion years and its going to be around at least that much longer. See the related link for more information.
Solar power is consider cleaner because it doesn't pollute the atmosphere with carbon dioxide (CO2) and it is easier to run. Both answers are sadly the common view and both are very wrong. Solar power systems are very complicated to run. The massive amount of complex equipment make solar a very difficult system to operate and maintain. They are also very high maintenance. Most solar power systems also have a backup fossil fuel plant that produces almost as much CO2 as would be produced without the solar array even being installed. This means that solar actually produces less then zero power. What it does do is allow for credits that moeset the CO2 produced and makes people feel good about the rising use of power and energy. Coal's issue is not CO2 either. Levels of CO2 have increased in out atmospere from 0.030 to 0.038% (questionably). Suloher dioxide is a much larger issue from coal and leads to acid rain.
You can use many different things. some examples are: Bio-Fuel (still in development) Wind (not as reliable as coal) solar (doesn't produce as much energy as coal) hydro (doesn't produce as much energy as coal)
Solar energy is probably the second or third most used form of energy. The first would be coal, and then solar would have to be compared to wind energy. Solar is most popular in Europe and places like the US. However, wind energy is probably more widely used than solar.
Around 75% pf Australia's energy is derived from coal. Well we are starting to use solar energy and Kevin Rudd is push to put limits on how much coal we use.
Not as Much as Wind, Because Solar Panels Cost More Than Wind Turbines , If the Two Create The Same Amount Of Energy The Solar Would Have Costed More to produce the Panels.
Australia uses fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas), solar energy, hydroelectric energy and wind-generated power.
There is not much to dislike about solar energy.
how solar energy is used
How much given solar energy is received in a given location is that you have enough sunlight to create solar energy because solar means light waves from the sun. So if there is a lot of sunlight in your community/area you will get a lot/or a medium amount of solar energy, but if you don't have a lot of sunlight in your community/area then you won't get a lot of solar energy. Angle of deflection and shade trees, as well as cloud cover have a direct effect on the amount of convertible lightwaves available for conversion to electricity.
22.9%
There are more coal plants than solar plants because the cost per Mega-Watt is much less using coal than solar power, and currently coal is more efficient. The problem today is that in a environmentally conscious society coal is a 'dirty' fuel, and solar power is clean. That is why environmentalists are pushing for more Solar (and wind) power generation.
well that depends compare to solar energy i think fossil fuels make the most energy out of any other kind of energy because they have coal, petroleum, oil and natural gas in wish solar energy depends on the sun and wind energy in the wind that is why fossil fuels produced more energy than any other.
One third of coal's energy reaches the consumer.
