No. Depending on the situation I think you should tell the truth, even if it costs you your life. Or you don't have to tell the truth or a lie, simply don't answer. If you do die because of telling the truth, it really doesn't matter the only significant difference is you're in heaven and you have more treasures in heaven than before you went through that situation.

Romans did not write the Bible and therefore had no say in what was said about them or what they were reported as having said. The Romans had no opportunity to lie in the Bible, but the Christian authors did have that opportunity. So, the question should perhaps be whether the early Christians lied in the Bible, and arguably they did do so.
