Human language. The Navajo people, being one race in a species of many intelligent, modern Homosapiens, communicated as we still do today with sophisticated language. Navajo people exist right now, especially in North America. Most all of them speak English, but many thousands of them also speak the old Navajo tongue. I have to believe that the Navajo are, and were, very much like the rest of us in the ways that matter most. In love, justice, religion, art, science, culture, and ambition they dominated their world in their own time. They could not have accomplished it without language.
Traditional Navajo names are completely different. You can't really translate English names to them at all. The Latin meaning of Deanna is divine or holy so it could be Diyin At'ééd, holy girl. That is not a really Navajo name though. Some traditional Navajo girl names are :Ádeezbaa'((she is going to lead a raid), Átsé Deezba (She is going first on a raid), Dlį́baa (Warrior Girl), Naazbaaa'(she went on a raid), or Asdzą́ą́łtsoii (yellow woman), and Ashiike Naakii ( the one with twin boys)
It's not possible to count the words in any language, because there is no universal definition of what a word is. But most estimates place the number between 40,000 and 160,000 words (which is the same range for almost all other languages).Note: English is an exception. It has the largest number of words of any language in the world, estimated at 170,000 to 250,000 words. No language has more words than English.
The different groups of Apache people and the Navajo all speak different languages in the same language family. Just like Spanish, Italian and Romanian and French are all in the Romance family, these languages are in the Southern Athabascan family.Navajos speak Navajo or Diné bizaad in the Navajo language.Depending on how you count a language or a dialect there are about 6 Apache languages: Jicarilla, Lipan. Western Apache, Mescalero, Chiricahua, and Plains Apache. Some lump Mescalero and Chiricahua as one language. Sometimes Western Apache (Ndee biyáti') is divided into 3, 4 or 5 languages or dialects.
