From 1994 to 2008, the Nissan Vanette was simply a badge engineered Mazda Bongo, which was available in 2WD (rear wheel drive) or 4WD (1995 - 2008 only). The Nissan NV200 Vanette - which began production in 2009 and effectively replaced the Vanette/badge engineered Bongo - is a front wheel drive platform, however.
It's under the drivers seat ;) to get to it, you must unscrew the center consol cover. screw is at the rear of the cover, lift from the back and remove. there is a clip to undo just behind the gearstick. lift the skirt at the front of the seat and release the 2 clips there before pushing the seat bacwards. on right hand drive vehicles, the dipstick is under the passenger seat, and the oil filler cap is under the driver's seat. it sounds complicated, but is very easy and quick.
