Yes. It is a rectangular like type of plastic piece that snap into the compartment that houses the filter. Such compartment is located behind the Glove Compartment. You can reach the Cabin Air Filter by Pulling out the Glove compartment door.
Lower the glove box down remove the plastic cover on the heater box and pull out the cabin filter tray.
The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box, you will have to remove the glove box, behind the glove box is a cover about 1" high and 7" long, remove that cover and you will see a tray that holds the cabin air filter, remove the tray and you can replace the paper cabin air filter, I recomend using a Toyota cabin air filter, the Toyota cabin air filter is a HEPA air filter and is available at any Toyota dealer for about $ 30
1997 Toyota Camry does not have a cabin air filter. - It does not have an cabin filter, BUT the filter box is the same as the Lexus ES300 that HAS a cabin filter. The cabin air filters are located directly behind the glove compartment, undo the small damper on the right side of the glove box and squeeze the sides of the glove box to let it drop down pull the glove box down and then out, it will release from the dash or you can just drop it down far enough to get the cover off for the cabin filter and pull it out.
you change the cabin filter which is located inside the glove per say. you open the glove box door and take a screw driver and drop the hinge you see the cover for the cabin filter, remove the cover slide the old one out replace the new one.
The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box . First you open your glove box and push the sides and pull outward to remove the box. Next you will see your ac motor and right on top is a skinny compartment cover. Pop off that compartment cover and your cabin air filter is inside.
To get to the cabin air filter you remove under dash panel under the passenger side glove box.once this cover is off if you look up you will see cabin air filter cover . Remove this cover and cabin air filter is pulled straight down .

This is for a Cabin Air filter. Open the glove box. Remove the plastic access cover from back of the glove box by releasing the tab and pulling the cover from the right side toward the seat. Then remove the filter cover by releasing the two (2) tabs, one on either side of the filter access cover. Then remove the filter by pulling the filter straight out and replace.

If equipped with cabin filter it is located under the dash on the passenger side. There is a cover to slide to the rear, and the filter pulls out.
