∙ 2015-03-06 18:45:48Because of the weak transmission in the 94 and the mismatch because of version changes of the motor from 5.0 carb to 5.0 fuel injected to 4.6 fuel injection, and its weak piston seals, manifold cracking problems, oil viscosity issues it would not be possible to exchange the engines.
The 1994 Town Car has 6 Types of Transmissions, with the following random changes that make it impossible to exchange:
*1. Multiple transmission versions completely vary by length
*2. Multiple versions of gear shifter styles on transmissions, some on the inside of transmission, and some on the outside (94)
*3. Connectors completely different
*4. OBD 1 and 2 system changes and loss of circuits features and wires/sensors
*5. Start bolts vary from 2 bolt to 3 bolts in 94 on Trans Models
*6. Engine Egr components different, since early 85 5.0 where carbureted
*7. Because of the above 60% of the body mounting holes will be in different places
*8. Vacuum Lines from Manual to Digital Temp Controller Miss-Match
*9. Speedometer is a manual sensor on Trans multiple versions, spinning manual sensor or electric connection to dash.
*10. Early 1990 Transmissions were without Electric Solenoids.
NOTE: there are literally 19 different types of transmissions from 1990 to 1994 and the 94 alone had 4 Versions.
