Rose Red doesn't exist. I think the story is loosly based on the haunting of the Winchester Mansion.
I think you mean the Rose Red mansion. It's really Thornewood Castle just south of Tacoma, Washington,
Thornewood Castle! It is actually a bed and breakfast!
The Rose Red miniseries, along with the book, The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer: My Life At Rose Red, are entirely fictional. Rimbauer Mansion does not and has never existed. Some Rose Red scenes were filmed at Thornewood Castle, an estate located south of Tacoma, Washington. Beaumont University doesn't exist either!
The Rose Red mansion does not exist. It was purported to be a true story, but it was a hoax, just like with The Blair Witch Project, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and others. However, Stephen King got the idea from Sarah Winchester and the Winchester Mansion, which did/do exist. See the Related Question below. It is not a real place but you could find fake pictures of it, and pictures from the movie, on Google images.
Red Mansion Foundation was created in 1999.

No, Rose Red is NOT a real mansion, although Stephen King got the idea from a real mansion and a real woman: Sarah Winchester, and the Winchester Mystery House. It is important to note that no one has ever been killed or gone missing in the Winchester Mystery House. See the Related Links. The production company of the mini-series and the authors of both books that it is based on (Stephen King's Rose Red; and Ridley Pearson's Diary of Ellen Rimbauer: My Life At Rose Red) have worked incredibly hard to dupe you. I thought it was real for the longest time and know some very credible people who also thought it was fact. The truth is their are no such people as John and Ellen Rimbauer nor is there a great maneating house on Spring Street in Seattle, WA. The house used in the mini-series is called Thornwood Castle. The university which Joyce Reardon supposedly teaches at is also fake as is she. There is a rather authentic looking Beaumont University Website, but it too is a FAKE! This rather elaborate setup is debunked in completion in the HistoryLink article (again, see the Related Links).I agree. No one has been killed or gone missing in the Winchester house, but you might bump into a wall, stairways that go into the ceiling, corners, and doors that go straight down. She was quite a eccentric lady! Some say the death of her husband and child drove her insane. She spent her life trying to contact them in seances while adding on rooms to the house. I still question if she was insane to begin with, and their deaths made her worse. She left behind a great tourist attraction!
the key is in the basement of the pokemon mansion
