Yes they do. they have three i was told im about to replace mine in my susuki xl7
does a toyota corolla have timing belt or chain wit a 1ZZ-FE engine ************ It has a chain. Every Corolla from 1998 to 2012, all trims have the 1ZZ FE 1.8 Liter except the XRS 2005 & 2006 with a 2ZZ GE high performance 1.8Liter, still with a chain
The xl7 does not have a timing belt, it is a chain ,so pretty much never needs to be changed unless other parts like the timing chain tensioner should go bad and you still run the vehicle till it's to late(in other words abuseing it).
Beginning in 2003 all Honda 4 cylinders switched to a cam chain except the Honda Civic 1.7 liter 4 cylinder which still had a belt. The Honda Civic 1.7 liter switched to a cam chain beginning in 2006. All Honda V6 engines still use a cam belt that must be replaced.
The vehicle has a timing chain that keeps the camshaft spinning correctly relative to the crankshaft. It also has a serpentine belt (what used to be known as fan belts) that operates the AC compressor, alternator, air pump, and water pump. Some people still call serpentine belts a timing belt even though it has no effect on engine timing. Many 4 cylinder engines use a timing belt in place of a chain. I think this is where the confusion starts.
No. 10th Gereration, 2009 Corollas S, CE. LE Trims have the the 1.8Liter 2ZR FE with a timing chain. The XRS Trim has a 2.4 Liter 2AZ FE, still with a chain. The only engine Toyota makes anymore with a timing belt is the V8 in the Tundra, Sequoia and 4Runner
A wholesale car dealer guy told me that it has a chain. But I'm still trying to verify....
All Honda engines up to 2002 have a timing belt that must be replaced. Starting in 2003 the 4 cylinder in the Accord has a timing chain, but the V6 still has a timing belt.
4 cylinder still have timing belt.
Depends on miles on the engine - I traded in a 95 SL1 with 206,000 miles with the original timing chain still on the engine. My impression is that under normal circumstances, you should get at least 175,000 miles on a Saturn timing chain.
LOL,I dont think so .
4 cylinder have timing chain starting with model year 2003, prior to that it was all belts. V6 engines still have timing belts.
5.0 mustangs use steel gears for the crank and cam shaft with a double roller chain. This item is replaced only when the engine is overhauled. 210,000 and still running. same timing chain
