The honors, cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude, are awarded at the college level.
there is no Cum Laude here. We have a distinction program for the top 15%
It's an entirely separate program (extra units, extra difficult classes); not as easy as latin honors (cum laude, etc.).
To graduate with cum laude honors at Wheaton College in Illinois, you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
It depends on the student, the college or university, and the rigor of the specific program of study. In any case, if you have a passion for what you do, you will do well. If you concentrate and do the best that you can do, the grades will take care of themselves, and you will probably do better than cum laude.
3.5 to 3.69 for cum laude. 3.7 to 3.89 for magna cum laude. 3.9 and up for summa cum laude. I do not know if these scores are based on institutional or cumulative GPAs.
