How can I have a radio code for my car E200 (Year 2000)? I need it after changing the car battery!
You will need to call the dealer and give them the vehicle identification number. They will give it to you.
The radio the 1977 240D is equipped with does not require a radio code. If you have an aftermarket radio, you will need to contact the manfucaturer.
Is the code that you need to enter in order to have the radio work. Usually the dealer will provide the code with you vin #
you can call the dealership and give them your VIN number for your car, and they can look up the radio code. AS LONG AS the original radio is still installed. If a newer radio (mercedes radio) has been installed then you will need the serial number off the back of the radio.
Enter the numbered code and press the "SC " button. If you need the code you can call a Mercedes dealer and give them your VIN number. If the radio is not original your out of luck. The dealer can only provide the code for original radios.

To get radio codes from Mercedes you bring your vin and proof of ownership to the dealership. All they need to get it is the Vin but sometimes they ask you for proof of ownership- hence the "anti-theft" nature of the code.
its a security feature and you will need the radio code to unlock it.
When the radio goes to "CODE" you need to enter the correct code. This can usually be obtained from a dealer, even if the radio has been switched; otherwise you need to return it to Becker. I don't believe there's a "reset" function like on the newer radios. It either goes to "CODE" or works. If you enter the wrong code more than three time the radio will lock up and needs to be left on for as long as twenty four hours, before CODE will come up again. The dealer if they are decent can supply Mercedes radio codes with the VIN or the radios serial number. Becker will do the same but will Charge you $30.00. You need to contact Mercedes Benz and give the the serial number of your radio so they can verify ownership and if you are the rightfull owner they will match the corresponding code.
