While I am not sure if your question is about the US.or Europe?I can say that the biggest manufacturer was Cresent arms Co.They made over 100 different types of shotguns by name for many hardware stores through out the country.They were in business from 1882-1932.Of course Winchester made many shotguns during this time period.The model 1897 being the most popular.Remington were making side by side shotguns during this time also.with many being sold.Marlin began making shotguns at the begining of the 20th century.I hope that you find this informative.
