your prom chip in the cars ecm must be changed to a aftermarket chip check hypertech.com for choices in performance stage 1 2 3 etc.... it will also give you more horsepower by modifying fuel map and timing curve. in 1996 it changed to eprom in which the prom is not changed it is able to burn different programs with a handheld tool
it doesnt sound orthodox but cut the tach wires to the dash, it worked on my 94 with a 350.
Yes, the limiter kicks in at around 4400-4600 RPMs
6500 rpm and 100 mph
It does not have a governor. It may have a rev limiter which is comouter controlled.
The rev limiter is part of the computer programming.
no rev limiter on 98 model
My Malibu maxes out around 3800-4500RPMs while in Park.
95 mph due to rev limiter in ecu
The rev limiter is part of the engine computer programming. The computer would need reprogrammed to change the rev limiter.
The rev limiter makes it so it wont over rev and the bike doesent blow up
I'll bet it's because you have a rev limiter in the ECM
Yes but why would you? the rev limiter stops you from blowing it up...
