Fusion, which happens when in the intensely dense core of a sun; two of the countless hydrogen atoms are pushed together to form helium. The energy of the two molecules creates a larger molecule and releases a small amount of energy, which is eventually released at the surface (corona) . The amount of energy released is described in Einstein's famous equation E=mC2, or Energy= mass times the the speed of light multiplied by itself. It suggests that the helium atom is slightly less massive than the two hydrogen atoms and the mass loss is converted to energy.
