if the "check engine" light is on a code read will tell you exactly what the trouble is. Holding in the trip reset button while turning on and off the ignition 5 times will reveal the trouble code. You may be able to find the code online or your local autoparts dealer will be able to decode it for you. If you can get the vehicle to an Autozone, they will hookup a code reader for free and give you a printout with the codes, as well as tell you what the codes mean and possible fixes.
the blades in the engine start running
Whats wrong when an 86 ford aerostar keeps trying to start after the engine is running?
if by "skip" you mean stop running momentarily.....then I'd say yes. I just replaced a cam position sensor in my 2002 Liberty 3.7l V6, it would frequently "skip" and as it got worse the engine would die. I would start right back up, but it did seem to worsen as the engine warmed up.
Yes, but not necessary.
The alternator is run by a belt connected to the engine. When the engine is running the alternator is turning. The alternator is what produces the electrical current that charges the battery & powers everything electrical while the engine is running. the battery is mainly to start the engine.
Means to start the engine while it is cold (And has not been running for a few hours so the engine has gone cold)
A diesel engine that is starved for fuel will lose prime. This means that you will be unable to start the engine once it has stalled.
A bad EGR valve should not cause the engine to not start. There is most likely another problem that is causing the engine to not start.
you can have one installed aftermarket
They start to sputter, stall and stop running.
If the engine is running, you will destroy the starter and possibly the flywheel/pressure plate.
It is the same as it is when you check the compression when the engine is not running. It does not change. It will only get worse as engine wears with time and as miles start adding up on the engine.
