Gays have already come along way and have changed many laws regarding employment, etc. Western countries are lucky in the fact they live in a free country and can freely voice their opinions. Some people have no problem with gays while others do and just like racism there will always be those people that carrying on the torch of hatred out of fear and ignorance. One doesn't have to agree with the fact a person is gay, but it doesn't give anyone the right to make their lives miserable either. Gays hold powerful positions; work in different high end corporations; are in the movie industry; are actors or entertainers; some are great authors, etc. Gays also have their own newspapers and magazines as well as different organizations. The main problem with gay rights at the present time is 'same sex marriage' and this is a good subject for your essay. Do the research!
