Evaluate the changing values that the Indian feature films reflect about society?
Overt sexuality is taboo in Indian films so they substitute elaborate musical numbers. I haven't noticed much change when I come across an Indian film on cable tv. The acting is pure ham city.
Satyajit Ray is one of India's greatest film makers, his films are exquisite.
How do texts relate to their contexts and reflect the society and culture in which they were created?
Putting people in prison for going into debt seems to be a thing of the past, probably because society has realized that no one is the total master of their financial matters. Many states have repealed laws dictating proper sexual behavior between consenting adults, reflecting the changing morals of the nation.
Many societies are diverse in terms of culture and ethnic and racial heritage. The literature produced by a society can reflect the values of the groups of peoples just mentioned. Also, a society that produces a large quantity of literature can be said to be a society that is literate and open to ideas. A society that does not produce literature is most likely an ancient one with no written language.
Fashion through history. Fashion in films, How fashion has reflected the changes in Society. Does Fashion reflect the Economical conditions in a country ? War Fashion. Fashion of the 1960's and how they showed a changing society. How the First Ladies have influenced fashion in the United States. These are just a few ideas off the top of my head. I hope this helps or gets your brain moving.
