Best Answer

Pinocytosis is the engulfing of the extracellular fluid by cells. Or simple we could say that it is a "cell-drinking". -- Pinocytosis is a form of endocytosis in which small particles are brought into the cell suspended within small vesicles (pinocytotic vesicles) which subsequently fuse with lysosomes to hydrolyze, or to break down, the particles. This is important for the cell's absorption of extracellular fluids. Pinocytosis is a process that allows cells to take on hydration or other external substances.

An example of endocytosis would b the elguena (cilia) taking in large materials or non-dissolve particle in from the outside environment. White blood cells relate to pahagcytoisis---still a type of endocyoisis--so white blood cells would still consider as an example

Pinocytosis-Maens "cell drinking." The method of intake is essentially the same as for solids, with the cell membrane allowing an amount of liquid to enter the cell before it pinches off to entrap the engulfed material.

Pinocytosis refers to the ingestion of liquid into a cell. Examples of pinocytosis are: the uptake of extracellular fluids such as hormones and enzymes by the body cells and the uptake of nutrients by the cells containing microvilli.

In pinocytosis,

meaning "cell drinking," cells take in tiny droplets of liquid from their surroundings, as a small portion of the cell membrane indents. The open end of the tubelike

part that forms seals off and produces a small vesicle, which detaches from the surface and moves into the cytoplasm. Eventually, the vesicular

membrane breaks down, and the liquid inside become part of the cytoplasm. In this way, a cell can take in water and the particles dissolved in it, such as proteins, that otherwise might be too large to enter.

Tiny pockets form along the cell membrane, fill with liquid, then pinch off to form tiny vacuoles within the cell.
