An example of competition is the lion. The alpha lion will sometimes face a younger challenger who wants to take control over the kingdom. Also at the watering hole, the animals will compete to get a spot due to over crowding. This also applies for eating away at a carcass, the alpha lion will eat first and he other animals will compete for a spot. I hope this helped :)
Did you mean what is the meaning of a challenge with 2 or more people? that would mean competing against them. To see who can do better, not that one person is better then the other, just to see who is more skilled. If you don't win you can always try again, NEVER give up. NOTHING is imposable.
One example is two insects can survive on one rare flower. The two insects are going to fight for the rare flower to survive. Another example is how hyena often go to a lion's kill to get food while the lion pride is still there. The lions and hyenas might fight over the kill.
This happens a lot in wild animals, particularly animals that live in areas where food is scarce such as giraffes. Sighs of food competition may be seen in domestic animals such as dogs as well.
You may notice that if you have multiple pet dogs then the more dominant ones will eat first and the least dominant one will wait its turn. They have a way of establishing a pecking order.
This behavior is also present in pack or pride animals such as lions. If a younger lion feels that it deserves to eat before others then it must challenge one of the animals currently of higher importance.
Intraspecific - Between members of the same species. E.g. Two gorillas fighting over territory.
Interspecific - Between members of different species. E.g. A lion and hyena fighting over a zebra kill.
2 lions fighting over who will win the female or who will win the food
Well, a young lion may have caught a small gazelle, or such, and then what happens when a pack of hyenas come? well, they would most likely compete for the food.
Which type of population would result in the least competition for resources?

Cooperation and competition among ocean animals is very common. One example of competition is two sharks fighting for the same fish.
one example of competition in the artic is between polar bears and the artic wolf. both compete against each other for same source of food, which tend to be other animals you could also mention intraspecific competition between producers, for example in winter months when sunlight is scarce grass will compete for sunlight
Competition among the animals IS for survival
Animals need competition in their environment in order to have evolution take place. Competition is one factor that helps evolution weed out the weaker animals.
