Bad oil rings. Do a Murder Mystery Oil Soak on the cylinders
First thing to check is the pcv valve.
Oil consumption, excessive engine noise, smoke coming from the tail pipe.

Check oil level and condition of oil (strong odor of gasoline contamination) then do a compression test.
Oil consumption will give you the skitters.

If you have blue-gray smoke coming out of the exhaust, then you have worn or damaged piston rings, or valve seals. If the smoke is excessive, a major engine overhaul will be necessary. If no blue-gray smoke is coming out of the exhaust, then look for a worn/damaged oil pan gasket, or a loose oil pan plug, or a loose oil filter. In either of these cases, you should see oil spots on the ground under the car.
Excessive wear, or lack of oil. Or both. Generally lack of oil is what causes the excessive wear.
You will have traces of oil gunge in the water overflow bottle that's the tell-tale sign of it going, Oil filler cap will have a white to creamy colour gunge on it. also excessive water consumption over heating.
