For the 20th Century: The Russian-Japanese War of 1904-1905 was fought over Imperialism for both countries. WWII in Asia/Pacific was fought over imperialism on Japan's part. The Korean War 1950-1953 was part of the "cold war", and was fought to stem the tide of communism. The Vietnam War 1961-1975 was part of the "cold war", and was fought to stem the tide of communism.
