In the Joint Strike Fighter contest was a contest between the two chosen aircraft companies Lockheed-Martin and Boeing. Most people immediately foresaw that Boeing would be un-successful in this competition because of their lack in fighter building experience because their most recent fighter was the P-26 Pea-Shooter a plane built in WWI, 90 years earlier. The requirements were that their aircraft were that they had to be able to hover in mid-air, go supersonic and be completely stealth. Lockheed-Martin won and the beautiful Lockheed-Martin F-35 Lightning II was born.
This is a 3-view of the F-35. it is armed with cannons and rockets, it can go mach 1.5 and it can float in midair, due to the ability to aim the nacelle (the exhaust port, the little black thing on the back of the plane) at the ground. the engine turns a fan in the front and some of the thrust exhaust is ducted out of little ports in a specific spot on the wing, so there are four points of exhaust being thrown at the ground to keep the jet still and stable. The F-35 is the most new high tech American plane that has ever existed and should be seen as a plane of the future and respected.
In short, the F-35 is the best fighter jet to exist so far. look it up on Wikipedia and use a search engine image folder to get an idea of what something looks like.
It is the main source of the jet which makes it fly
ME-262 jet fighter, but it was introduced too late to effect the war.
The USAF, USN, and USMC. The US Army does NOT have fixed-wing jet aircraft anymore; that DoD ruling took effect in 1964. USMC jet fighter pilots are trained/funded by the USN.
No, the jet engine had not been invented yet, so there were no "fighter jets"
uh dum if uh dont no tht
At the moment probably the F22 or the Su T-50 Then the F35-II
Depends what type of fighter jet it is
Messerschmitt AG invented the first fighter jet.
A fighter jet can be faster than the speed of sound.

There are many, many thousands of parts in a modern fighter jet.
A Lightning jet fighter
you can't buy a real jet fighter joystick!
Yes, and the f-22 is a fighter jet
The first operational jet fighter was called the Messerschmitt Me-262.
Depends on which fighter jet, most fly between 1,000 and 1,400 mph.
Canada's first jet fighter was the De Havilland 100 Vampire, in 1948.
