" The underscore and end title theme for the show is scored by composer Christopher Tyng, who also scored Leary's previous show, The Job." ~ Rescue Me (TV series) - Wikipedia.
Not the first time I've run into a nameless piece of music from a composer, used in TV or film.
It is clearly a cover version of Tomorrow Never Knows by the Beatles. I just don't know by whom.
At the moment he is best known in America for playing Dr. Gregory House in 'House MD'. He is also known for his role as the Dad in the Stuart Little Movies.
Hugh Laurie may also be recognized in America for his role as Jasper, the taller of Cruela's henchmen, in the live action version of 101 Dalmatians and his role as Mr. Palmer in 'Sense and Sensibility'. He was also in the remake of 'Flight of the Phoenix'.
His career started in Britain where he has been known longer and better in roles such as his different roles in the BBC's 'Black Adder' t.v. series, his role as Wooster in the series 'Jeeves and Wooster', adapted from P.G. Woodhouse's novels, his own series called 'Fortysomething' his film roles in 'Maybe Baby', 'Peter's Friends', and 'The Girl from Rio'.
Hugh is also a musician with an album out called 'Let Them talk'
No, In Lines in the Sand, Wilson says, "You're not autistic... you don't even have Asperger's."
Besides, he is adept at reading body language of those around him, which would almost prove that he does not have Asperger's. He manipulates those around him, watching body language to see how they react in order to adjust his approach. He ignores the body language of others when he does not want to respond to it.
I am not sure anyone with Asperger's would want to jump to claim him as one of their own unless he was both a) real and b) they or someone they loved had a serious illness that was difficult to diagnose.
As an Aspie, I would therefore like to be first to self-sacrificially surrender him to the good folk over at the Ananchastic Personality Disorder Society. A simply delightful discussion on Asperger's vs. Ananchastia occurs at:
http://www.tonyattwood.com.au/articles/danda5.html.
No real watcher of the program House MD should have too much trouble seeing the whole category of Ananchastia was created as a prime holding-pen for House primarily.
('Ananchastic/Anankastic' should never be confused with the political 'Anarchistic', but then House just doesn't keep to even that rule does he?) ____________
First of Ananchastic/Anankastic Personality disorder is an older or archaic term that is used to describe OCD behavior, and OCD is a problem in a significant minority of those with Asperger's.
Is Dr. House an Aspie, more than likely yes, with a hint of Narcissism, and OCD, his Autism types seem to be: Einstein, Powell, Warhol.
Einstein - Intellectual, high IQ, known as an expert in subject of interest, and can be argumentative with others who they feel are less knowledgeable and competent.
Powell- Aggressive, intelligent yet hostile in general, uses drugs in order to relieve stress.
Warhol- Extremely confident, egocentric, thinks highly of self and believes others should think highly of him as well, likes to monologue extensively, and when faced with problems they can become quite revengeful and bitter in life.
So yes, House is an Aspie, and as a person with Asperger's I relate much too him, and I share his Autism types.
--------------
Another strong possibility is that House is ADHD Combined-type:
Most likely Hugh Laurie himself is ADHD too, as are very many comics.
