No....never give them too many. Sugar cubes are treats to horses like apples are. Usually you give them when they've done good or its their B-Day. Still its like humans and candy....its good but not the best if we have too much.
Horses are not plagued by dental cavities, so not sugary treast wikk not cause cavities. Limiting the amout of these treats is cautioned though because the horse may come to expect the treats and become 'spoiled', with an increased tendency to bite when a treat isn't given.
Sugary treats do not usually cause cavities in horses . Horses' teeth continue to grow all their life and need to be looked at once a year. Food trapped between the horse's teeth or growth at odd angles are more likely to cause decay. If you are worried about the amount of sweet treats you give, try some treats designed just for horses. A friend of mine has a pony that is not allowed sugary treats as he is prone to Laminitus so she buys sugar free sweets.
Hello, You should avoid feeding your ferret anything sweet. The best treats for ferrets are small amounts of ferretone, high quality ferret treats (Wysong Natural Pet Food offers some of these) or strictly meat-based or protein based treats. Ferrets are vulnerable to diseases such as insulinoma, and feeding sugary treats may cause health problems for your ferret later. Ferret Owner
my rat-girl sammie gets hyper when she eats sugary treats, like sugary cereal.
You could get your horse some special treats or special food to eat.
First simply don't give treats by hand anymore, and don't allow anybody else to either, if you give a treat drop it in the horses feed pan and allow him to get it from there. Also don't carry treats on your person, no carrot sticks in the pockets ;) Eventually the horse will stop looking for them and come to realize that treats come from the food pan.
It is like feeding them food.
if your horse isn't eating his food... he might be sick and you should have him looked at promptly. however, i had a very picky horse who didnt like certain treats. also horses that were raised with out treats are usually very hesitant when introduced to them for the first time.
=if its especially at food time I'm guessing it means it wants its food if=
