Are you sure the pick up is good? If your not sure replace it. You can check the ohms on the pick up coil they should be between 500 and 1500. Check the rotor button for a hole burnt in it. Check the coil and coil wire. WHAT THE HECK R U PPLS TALKING ABOUT???

Your 93 festiva startsruns about three seconds then dies It will start right up again but dies again you have replaced distributor ecm and the ignition control module plenty of fuel too?

I know this seems obvious but you didn' mention checking the ignition switch. Possibly the start contacts are ok but the run contacts are open. This will result in the symptoms you mention.

I have current at positive and negative leads of coil but do not have current at distributer. i have replaced coil with new one still no current at distributer.?

First how do you know there isn't any current to the distributor? When the contact breaker's points OPEN it makes the coil's built-up current collapse (for want of better terminology) and this sends a high voltage current to the distributor's center cap which the distributor's rotor then "distributes" to the plug that is supposed to fire next. To test the coil and the high voltage wire: * Turn the engine by using the starter to make sure the distributor's contacts are open, not closed. * Take the high voltage wire out of the top of the distributor cap. Leave it connected to the coil. * With the ignition turned on, hold the end of the high voltage wire from the coil close-to but not touching a ground point, such as the engine block . Be careful only to hold the high voltage wire's insulation and not its end because the coil sends a few thousand volts to the plugs to make them spark! * Then use a flat bladed screwdriver to short-out the points at the distributor and * when you remove the screwdriver from the contacts you should get a spark from the end of the high voltage wire to the ground point. If you can't see any sparks from the end of that high voltage wire when the distributor's points are first shorted and then opened, then the first thing to do is check that the contacts really are open and do the above test once again. If you are sure they really are open then there could be several other reasons why you don't get a spark: * The wire inside the high-voltage wire from the coil may have burnt-out or have gotten broken inside somehow so it needs to be replaced. * The contact breaker's spark-suppression capacitor may be faulty and shorting out the contacts. If that is the case then you need to buy and fit a new capacitor. * The distributor cap and rotor arm, which turns inside it to distribute the spark current to each spark plug in turn, may each be very dirty or burnt-out so that the spark is shorting-out to ground. If that is the case then you need to buy and fit a new distributor cap and rotor arm. * The ignition coil may be burnt-out and needs to be replaced. If, after replacing the various parts, you do eventually get a spark when doing the above test using a screwdriver to short the contacts, but the engine still won't fire and run then: * The contacts may not be set to the correct gap. * The contacts may be faulty or burnt-out and need to be replaced. * The cam on the distributor's rotor may not be opening and closing the contacts.
