All fish will eventually settle down provided you stick to a routine and turn the lights on and off at the same time daily. I hope your fish is not in too small a tank though. If it is it will never settle down. Flowerhorns are a man (laboratory) made species and they will grow into large (6 to 8inch) fish. The basic rules for keeping fish successfully are :- 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. (A Flowerhorn needs at least 10 gallons) Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week. Follow the above guidlines and keep the fish at the required temperature (75F to 80F) and feed it properly and it should do well. Fail to observe any of the above and I can guarantee that your fish will have constant health problems and live a shortened life span.
