depends on where the ticking sound is coming from, if it inside the car and related to fan speed, the most likely cause is a leaf stuck in the fan, which is located on passengers side foot well, the easiest way to fix is start car, turn vent control from fresh to resirc, this allows the resirc flap to open in passenger foot well, get an air blower into fan housing and blow, usually repeating this procedure several times will dislodge leaf. If the noise is in the engine bay, its the compressor, from past experience if ac working ok, leave it, due to price of new compressor,
It's a rocker arm tapping at valve stem. Hydraulic lifters (hydraulic rocker mounts) are the common reason for the ticking. If it doesn't go away when the engine heats up, consider replacing the lifter where the ticking comes from.
