I am having the same problem. Ist time overhauled calipers. Right front pads wore out quickly. Next replaced calipers, same deal right front is locked to the point where care shakes and cannot be driven. Thinking proportioning valve or master cylinder? Anyone ever run into this?

∙ 9y agoIf one side of the brakes is locking then check the caliper. If both sides are locking up then there could be a master cylinder problem. The brakes could also lock up to compensate for the rear brakes not working properly.

My friend is having the same problem with her 2011 Focus. They told her it was to do with the traction control kicking in. She said it occurred out of the blue and wasn't under extreme conditions or bad driving. Ford replicated the locking and traction control activation during a test, but they said it wasn't a steering or break issue.
